Join us at Turing Fest, Edinburgh (27-29 August 2019)

Having made semi-regular trips to Edinburgh over the past 18 months on my own for business or on holiday with my family (it’s only 1hr 30mins on the train from Newcastle), I’m excited to be attending Turing Fest for the first time next month after learning all about it from the Founder & CEO, Brian Corcoran, when we wet at Codebase last year.

Turing Fest is now regarded as Europe’s best cross-functional tech conference, giving delegates ‘the tactics & tools to build better products, grow their business faster & lead happier & more effective teams.’

Over three days of keynotes, panels, workshops & parties between 27-29 August, the event is split into three tracks:

  • Build: engineering, product managing, design & UX, data
  • Grow: marketing, growth, revenue, customer success
  • Lead: company culture, strategy, leadership, scaling

(There’s also an invite-only founder/investor summit plus some deep-dive workshops & training with some of the speakers on 27th August).

Newcastle + Edinburgh = Stronger Together!

I’ve been talking a lot (in person & in blogs or press articles) in the past 12 months about how the startup & scaleup communities in the North East of England & South East of Scotland should work more closely together for mutual benefit (especially Newcastle & Edinburgh).

One simple way we can do this is to encourage more people to spend time in each other’s respective cities, using events like Turing Fest in August & our own Newcastle Startup Week festival in May as reasons for people to travel.

If you’d like to join me at Turing Fest, as an extra incentive I’m pleased to say that anyone reading this blog can get a 20% discount on tickets by entering the special promo code NCSUW-20 when booking at turingfest.com

(Please note: ticket prices increase on Friday 26th July so you should book before then to get the best price).

Let me know if you’ll be joining me there!
