Sintons sponsors monthly Founders’ Friday events

Law firm Sintons has extended its sponsorship of the highly-acclaimed Founders’ Friday events which connect North East startup ventures with the wider business community.

Founders’ Friday has secured law firm Sintons as the sponsor of its up-coming series of events. The monthly event, held for the first time at the Tuspark Eagle Lab co-working space in Newcastle upon Tyne in July 2018, gives startup founders the opportunity to share knowledge, ideas and inspiration as a means to support business growth. The event is attracting growing numbers of attendees from the region as well as those travelling from further afield.

The regular monthly event, organised by Plan Digital, continues the momentum established at the highly successful Newcastle Startup Week festival, which has become a much-anticipated feature in the business calendar. The sponsorship of Founders’ Friday is the latest coup for Sintons’ highly-esteemed specialist tech team, which recently also announced a partnership with Tuspark Eagle Lab. Leading tech lawyer Lucy Cook, senior associate at Sintons, alongside corporate solicitor Luke Philpott, are consolidating the firm’s growing presence in this field.

Lucy and Luke have already presented sessions at Founders’ Friday including a practical session alerting startup founders to the legal pitfalls to be avoided when establishing and growing a business. At the upcoming September Founders’ Friday event, specialist Sintons lawyers will cover how business owners can practically protect themselves from late payments – a key concern for all SMEs.

Lucy Cook said: “The inaugural Founders’ Friday event, sponsored by Sintons, was such a success that we are delighted to be able to lend our support for the longer term. As a team, we recognise the importance of building relationships with the wider business community. The growth of the region’s tech sector is happening at such a fast pace that events like this play a crucial role in supporting fledgling businesses and allowing them to access the right support at the right time.”

“Our team at Sintons has become known as a go-to advisor in this sector for our capability and wide-ranging knowledge, and with over 220 years’ experience across the department, we have the ability to advise businesses at any stage of their development, and hopefully go on their journey with them.”

Paul Lancaster (Founder & Director of Plan Digital and Newcastle Startup Week) said: “With two superb events now under our belt and a third happening this week, I’m delighted to have Sintons extend their sponsorship of our monthly Founders’ Friday events and have been impressed by how proactive, supportive and knowledgeable Lucy Cook and Luke Philpott are when it comes to tech/digital startups, scaleups and enterprise level businesses in the North East, North West and other parts of the UK.”
