‘Evening events’ and sponsors announced for Newcastle Startup Week (15-19 May 2017)

At all great conferences, it’s the interesting and enthusiastic conversations you have with other delegates before, during and after an event that form the basis of exciting new businesses or projects.

Coming together for shared experiences like Newcastle Startup Week can speed up the process of innovation and collaboration as conversations ebb and flow around seemingly random yet interconnected topics (which we have carefully curated).

Unusual venues and inspiring speakers can open your mind to new ways of thinking which is why we’re including a series of exciting afterparty events and activities on each night during Newcastle Startup Week at no extra cost for delegates thanks to the kind support of our fantastic evening sponsors;

  • ‘Digital Alliance’ (the collective term for Sunderland Software City, Digital Union and Dynamo North East)
  • Muckle LLP
  • KPMG
  • Royal Bank of Scotland

Mark Lockey (Manager, KPMG Newcastle) said: “KPMG have an excellent track record of advising fast growing start-ups and owner managed businesses throughout their growth journey, and we are delighted to be supporting Newcastle Startup Week. The North East is a fantastic place to start and grow a business, and I’m sure the week will show case all of the qualities the region has to offer. Paul has done an excellent job organising the week, and it promises to be an event not to be missed!”

Steve McCrady (Flagship Bank Manager | Future Williams & Glyn Team | RBS Newcastle) said: “As a local lad who’s seen the demise of heavy industry in the North East, I’m delighted to now be witnessing our rebirth and reinvention which Newcastle Startup Week is here to celebrate and promote. We Geordies and North Easterners are famous for our resilience and are now well on the way to rebuilding that reputation for innovation too. We’re doing the same here at the Royal Bank of Scotland in Newcastle with a range of services that bring the personal touch back to the high street and local business community.”
